Rangers and Wolves Begin Series Tonight at 7:30pm

TEWKSBURY, MA -- We're down to just the final four teams in the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), and the New England Conference matchup between the Boston Jr. Rangers and the New England Wolves is set to begin tonight at 7:30pm.

During the regular season, these two teams faced-off a total of the seven times:

Similar to the Mid-Atlantic Conference Finals between the Philadelphia Little Flyers and the New Jersey 87s, every matchup in the regular season was tight.

As for the Little Flyers and 87s, they split games #1 and #2 of their series, and are heading back to New Jersey for a decisive game #3 on Sunday night.

Coming back to the Rangers-Wolves series, and each team took care of business in the Second Round by completing sweeps of their respective opponents. The Rangers handled the Vermont Lumberjacks with victories by the scores of 5-1 and 7-0. As for the Wolves, they beat the Connecticut Chiefs by the score of 4-2 in each game.

Ahead of game #1 tonight, we are going to highlight one player from each team to watch in the New England Conference Finals.

Bobby McCloskey is the anchor in goal for the Rangers this season, and he was between the pipes for each Second Round victory over the Lumberjacks. In total, the 2000-born netminder turned aside 47 of the 48 total shots that were sent his way. Looking back to the Regular Season, and McCloskey posted some of the best numbers in the league. The 6'5 netminder owned an overall record of 19-2-2, to go along with 2.10 GAA, a .930 save percentage, and 3 shutouts. McCloskey is a candidate for this year's Goaltender of the Year award in the EHLP.

As for the Wolves, their player to watch is nominated for both the MVP and the Defenseman of the Year awards in the EHLP. Jack Johansen tallied four points in the series with the Chiefs (three goals, one assist), including the game-winner in game #2. During the regular season, Johansen turned heads across the league, tallying 53 points (19 goals, 34 assists) in 35 total games. The big, smooth-skating defenseman makes his presence felt on each and every shift that he takes.

Below you'll find the schedule for the three-game series, and be sure to watch each game live on HockeyTV.
