BOSTON, MA -- We turn the page to another jam-packed weekend in the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP). The next few days feature 12 total games, including a pair of matchups on President's Day (Monday, February 18th). Following Sunday's showdown, the sixth and final regular season matchup is scheduled for the 24th at 6:30pm.

Below you'll find the full weekend schedule. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Tuesday, February 19th. Remember to catch the #Eshow all season long on HockeyTV.

Emoff Commits to Manhattanville College

By Neil Ravin - Director of Communications 02/11/2019, 10:00am EST

EHLP Alum Set to Join Valiants this Fall

BURLINGTON, VT -- Mason Emoff, a forward for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to Manhattanville College for the fall of 2019. Emoff is in his third season of junior hockey, and second with the Lumberjacks organization. The '98 native of Ontario, Canada played for Vermont's team at the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) level back in the 2016-17 season, and this year is his first season at the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) level.

"Coaching Mason has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in hockey," said Lumberjacks head coach and general manager Jim Mosso. "He is the kind of person who inspires everyone around him to be better. He helped me create a program with a one of a kind culture. I couldn’t be more proud to see how many schools wanted him this year. Manhattanville is the perfect fit for him. I know they will be lucky to have him."

Looking back first on Emoff's year in the EHLP, and the talented scorer tore it up that season, tallying 106 total points for the Lumberjacks. After a campaign in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), Emoff returned to Vermont, this time at the top level. To date this season, Emoff has notched 47 points through 39 total games. Emoff is proud of the way he has developed throughout his junior career, and is beyond grateful to have returned to the Lumberjacks.

"I couldn’t have asked to be a part of a better team for my final year of junior hockey," said Emoff. "Along with a great group of guys who have made my experience amazing, I'm thankful to be coached by Coach Mosso. He does an exceptional job both on the ice and when it comes to showcasing his players. He went so far out of his way to help me find the perfect fit for college and I could not be any happier."

Emoff and the Lumberjacks have gone 10-1-0 since returning from the holiday break in January, and they are 14-3-0 since Thanksgiving. The stretch has helped Vermont advance all the way up to 4th place overall in the New England Conference. This weekend, the Lumberjacks travel to Tewksbury, MA for a pair of games against the Boston Jr. Rangers, as the two-game series may determine who has the home ice advantage in the First Round of the EHL Playoffs.

Learn more about the Vermont Lumberjacks on the team's official website, and check out the EHLP's Commitment list, showing all the players who've climbed the ladder of development.

Doney Commits to Plattsburgh State

By Neil Ravin - Director of Communications 01/30/2019, 10:00am EST

EHLP Alum Set to Join Cardinals in the Fall of 2020

BURLINGTON, VT -- Cory Doney, a defenseman for the Vermont Lumberjacks, has committed to SUNY Plattsburgh for the fall of 2020. Doney is in his third season of junior hockey, and second with the Lumberjacks organization. The '99 native of Northfield, VT is very happy with his decision to return to the Lumberjacks this season, as it ultimately led to this big moment in his hockey career.

"It has been an absolute pleasure coaching Cory," said Lumberjacks head coach and general manager Jim Mosso. "I have watched him develop from our premier team two years ago, to one of the best players in the Eastern Hockey League. He has put a lot of effort in to mature and develop both as a hockey player and a young man. I have no doubt that Cory will be an impact player at Plattsburgh State."

As Mosso mentioned, Doney played on Vermont's Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) team a couple years ago (2016-17 season), tallying 47 points in 42 total games. This year, he's making a name for himself as one of the best young players in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Overall, Doney is beyond grateful for his time in Vermont.

"I've known Coach Mosso for three years now, and I’ve been lucky enough to play for him and the Vermont Lumberjacks for two of those years," said Doney. "He has allowed me to develop myself as a person and a hockey player. If it wasn’t for him and the organization, it’d be hard to see myself where I am today. I’ve gained much knowledge and respect from the Lumberjacks organization. I can’t wait for another year with them before I start my journey at Plattsburgh playing college hockey."

Doney and the Lumberjacks are a perfect 5-0-0 in the month of January, and the skilled defenseman has tallied eight total points during that stretch. Looking ahead, Vermont has a big weekend in front of them, starting with a matchup tomorrow afternoon against the Connecticut RoughRiders, and followed by a two-game series with the New England Wolves on Saturday and Sunday.

Learn more about the Vermont Lumberjacks on the team's official website, and check out the EHLP's Commitment list, showing all the players who've climbed the ladder of development.
