BOSTON, MA -- Another weekend in the books for the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP), as it's starting to officially feel like hockey season. This past weekend featured all 12 EHLP teams in action, with a number of intriguing matchups. As is always the case, there were plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.
The EHLP is pleased to announce that Brad Heuer (New Jersey 87s), Ryan Crane (New Jersey 87s), and Reilly Moyer (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.
This EHLP action resumes on Wednesday, with 12 more games on the schedule this week. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, October 22nd at 10:00am. Catch the EHLP action all season long on HockeyTV.
Heuer and the 87s swept their weekend series with the New Jersey Renegades, winning by scores of 8-2 on Friday and 8-4 on Sunday. The '99 forward scored 3 goals and dished out 6 assists over the course of the 2 games, running his season total up to 15 points for the year. New Jersey has won 5 straight games, and is now set for a pair of big matchups this weekend against the Vermont Lumberjacks.
While Heuer carried the load up front, Crane followed suit on the blue line with 6 points of his own. The 2000 born defenseman notched a 5-point night that included the game-winning goal on Friday, and then added another assist to his name on Saturday. The big weekend pushed Crane's season totals up to 11 points in 11 games so far this year.
Staying in the Mid-Atlantic Conference, Moyer and the Jr. Flyers split their home-and-home series with the Philadelphia Little Flyers. Moyer drew the start for the back end of the series on Sunday, and stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced en route to his first win of the season. With the victory, the Jr. Flyers moved into 4th place in the conference standings, and they'll look to build off of the win with home matchups against the Connecticut Chiefs and the Philadelphia Revolution this weekend.
