PROVIDENCE, RI -- That does it for another great season in the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP). In its third season, the EHLP has grown and gotten stronger each and every year. One of the main consistencies has been the Boston Jr. Rangers, a team that has played for the title every season. With a 4-3 victory today over the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, the Rangers were able to secure their second EHLP Championship.
The title game this season could best be described in one word, epic. After giving up a pair of goals just 47 seconds apart in the 1st period, the Rangers never gave up hope. Led by Kyle Welch in the 2nd period, the Rangers evened the score at 3 apiece heading into the final frame. With just under 12 minutes left to go in the 3rd period, Danila Larionovs (EHLP Forward of the Year), found the back of the net for his team. The Latvian's tally gave his team their first lead of the game, and it stood as the game-winner.
Below you'll find period-by-period statistical breakdowns of an incredible title game in Providence. Congratulations to the Boston Junior Rangers.
