BOSTON, MA -- Another week in the books, as it's starting to truly feel like Fall in the Northeast. This past week featured 12 Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) teams in action, and plenty of worthy candidates for this week's awards.
The EHLP is pleased to announce that Ryan Sharkey (Philadelphia Little Flyers), Jacob Crespo (Walpole Express), and Justin Padilla (New York Applecore) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.
The week ahead includes 14 games on the schedule starting tomorrow and running through Sunday. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, November 6th at 4:00pm. Catch the EHLP action all season long on HockeyTV.
Sharkey and the Little Flyers split their games this past weekend at home, losing to the New Jersey 87’s on Saturday and bouncing back with a win against the Central Penn Panthers on Sunday. The '98 forward had a hat-trick against the Panthers and racked up a total of 5 points for the week. Sharkey now has 32 points on the season and leads all of the EHLP in the assist category with 16. Up next for the Little Flyers home-and-home series against the New Jersey Renegades on Saturday and Sunday.
Crespo and the Express won their only game of the week, beating the New England Wolves 8-0 on Friday. The 2000 defensemen, notched a goal and 3 assists in the victory. Crespo now leads all defensemen on his team in the assist category with 7 on the year and 10 total points. Up next for the Express this week, is another match-up with the Wolves in New Hampshire tomorrow afternoon.
Padilla and the Applecore won their only game this weekend against the New Jersey 87’s, behind a shutout performance from their netminder. The 2000, earned his first shutout of the season on Sunday, stopping all 43 shots in the win. Padilla has racked up an impressive .924 save percentage and 3.08 GAA so far this season. Up next for the Applecore is a pair of home games against the 1st place Philadelphia Jr. Flyers this Saturday and Sunday.
