BOSTON, MA -- There is a chill in the air, as the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) turns the calendar over to October. This past weekend featured all 13 EHLP teams in action, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.
The EHLP is pleased to announce that Geordan Buffoline (Vermont Lumberjacks), Tracy Robinson (Philadelphia Revolution), and Ryan Creenan (Philadelphia Little Flyers) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.
Another big week in the EHLP kicks off on Wednesday, with 13 total games on the docket through Sunday. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, October 9th at 10:00am. Catch the EHLP action all season long on HockeyTV.
Buffoline and the Lumberjacks won all 3 of their games this past week, stretching their winning streak to 6 to start the season. The '99 from New York tallied at least a point in all 3 games, and finished with 7 total points over the stretch. Buffoline now has 6 goals and 4 assists to start the season, and will look to stay hot when Vermont hosts the Valley Jr. Warriors on Wednesday and the New York Applecore on Saturday.
Robinson and the Revolution only had 1 game this past week, but they took care of business with a 4-3 win over the New Jersey Renegades, extending their winning streak to 5 games. The big defenseman scored a pair of goals in the contest, running his total up to 4 for the season. Philadelphia seeks revenge on Saturday as they travel to take on the New Jersey 87s, the team responsible for the Revolution's only loss so far this season. Philadelphia also has a home matchup against the Jersey Wildcats on Sunday.
Creenan and the Little Flyers won both of their games this past weekend, with the '99 in net on Saturday against the Central Penn Panthers. The native of New Jersey pitched a shutout, stopping all 47 shots he faced on the way to his first win of the season. Creenan will look to make it 2 in a row when Philadelphia hosts the Valley Jr. Warriors on Sunday, the final game for the Little Flyers before the October Showcase (Brewster Ice Arena - 10/14 to 10/16).
Michael Termine scored his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd goals of the season on Saturday, as the forward's natural hat-trick led the way to 5-1 victory for the New Jersey 87s over the Jersey Wildcats.
Nick Merryman also served the role of offensive catalyst for his team, as the '98 forward tallied 6 total points for the Valley Jr. Warriors in a weekend sweep of the New York Applecore. The '98 forward netted a hat-trick with a pair of assists on Saturday, and then followed things up with the game-winner on Sunday.
