Hibshman, Gargiulo, and Pray Named 3 Stars of the Week

BOSTON, MA -- The EHLP is back in full gear again, following the Thanksgiving break. This past weekend featured 14 of the 15 teams in action, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

We're pleased to announce that Ian Hibshman (Philadelphia Revolution), Andrew Gargiulo (Brewster Bulldogs), and Trevor Pray (Walpole Express) have been named the EHLP Stars of the Week.

Also, this week's EHLP Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks, with Honorable Mentions going out to Matt Kassab (Boston Bandits) and Eric Roy (Vermont Lumberjacks).

Ian Hibshman

Hibshman and the Revolution swept their home-and-home series with the New Jersey Rockets, improving their overall record to 20-2-2 for the season (44 points). The Revolution currently hold a five-point lead for the top spot in the league standings, with the Vermont Lumberjacks locking down 2nd place at the moment.

  • Saturday, December 3rd ::: Revolution 7 - Rockets 5 ::: (3g, 0a, 3p)
  • Sunday, December 4th ::: Revolution 7 - Rockets 0 ::: (3g, 0a, 3p)

Hibshman's six-point weekend accounts for more than a third of his total points this season. The '98 forward from Lebanon, Pennsylvania will look to keep things rolling when the Revolution hit the ice next at the Cromwell Showcase. Philadelphia is set to face-off with the Northern Cyclones on Saturday the 17th, and the New England Wolves on Sunday the 18th.

Andrew Gargiulo

Gargiulo and the Bulldogs split their weekend series with the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack this past Saturday and Sunday. The 2000-born netminder from Larchmont, New York was between the pipes for his team's win on Saturday.

  • Saturday, December 3rd ::: Bulldogs 2 - Wolfpack 1 ::: (26 saves)

Gargiulo played well to help his team get back on track with a solid victory. He'll look to continue to anchor his team when they face-off with the New Jersey Rockets on Sunday, and then the Boston Jr. Rangers and Walpole Express at the Cromwell Showcase.

Trevor Pray

Pray and the Express won both of their games this past weekend, improving their season record to 11-10-3 (25 points). Walpole is currently tied with the Valley Jr. Warriors and the Boston Jr. Rangers for 4th place in the North Conference.

  • Saturday, December 3rd ::: Express 3 - Bandits 2  ::: (1g, 1a, 2p)
  • Sunday, December 4th ::: Express 6 - Rebels 1  ::: (0g, 2a, 2p)

Pray's four-point weekend gives him 29 total points for the season. The '98 forward from Tonowanda, New York has been hot lately with 14 points in his last 8 games. Pray will look to continue to lead the way when the Express host the Valley Jr. Warriors on Sunday, and then take on the Brewster Bulldogs and New York Applecore at the Cromwell Showcase.

EHLP Team of the Week

Just like in the EHL Division, this week's EHLP Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks.

The Lumberjacks swept their weekend set with the Northern Cyclones, improving their overall record to 18-4-1 (37 points) for the season. The Lumberjacks continue to lead the North Conference, as they now own a five-point lead at the top of the standings.

  • Saturday, December 3rd ::: Lumberjacks 3 - Cyclones 0
  • Sunday, December 4th ::: Lumberjacks 6 - Cyclones 5

Vermont has a solid stretch of games ahead of them, as the Lumberjacks travel to take on the Boston Jr. Rangers twice this weekend in Tewksbury, and then get set to face-off with the Lehigh Valley Jr. Rebels and the New Jersey Rockets at the Cromwell Showcase.
