BOSTON, MA -- Another week in the books, and now only 15 days stand between us and the EHLP Playoffs. This past week featured 13 of the 15 teams in action, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.
We're pleased to announce that Mason Emoff (Vermont Lumberjacks), Eric Roy (Vermont Lumberjacks), and Bryan O'Toole (Boston Jr. Rangers) have been named the EHLP Stars of the Week.
Also, this week's EHLP Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks, with an Honorable Mention award going out to Joshua George (New England Wolves).
Emoff and the Lumberjacks swept their weekend series with the Boston Bandits, clinching both the North Conference and EHLP Regular Season Championships. At 32-4-2, Vermont has sat at the top of the standings since mid-September.
Emoff's three-point weekend included the game-winner on Saturday. The top scorer in the EHLP Division now has 34 goals and 56 assists in 37 games for Vermont, and he leads the league in all three categories. With their playoff seed finalized, Vermont finishes off the regular season with a pair of games at home this weekend against the Bandits, and then a trip to south to take on the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Philadelphia Revolution next weekend.
Emoff also won Star of the Week honors in October.
While Emoff led the way offensively, Eric Roy stood tall between the pipes for the Lumberjacks. The '99 netminder was in net for each victory, maintaining his perfect record for the season.
Roy is now a spotless 13-0-0 on the year, to go along with a 2.22 GAA and 2 shutouts. The native of Grand Isle, Vermont has solidified his spot as the #1 goalie with four straight wins over teams in either 1st or 2nd place in their respective conference. The young goaltender will try and finish off the season blemish-free, with matchups with the same three teams to end the season (Bandits, Jr. Flyers, Revolution).
O'Toole wasn't as perfect as Roy this past weekend, but the '97 goaltender did pick up a pair of key victories for the Rangers. With six games remaining in the regular season, the Rangers find themselves in a tight battle for a spot in the North Conference playoffs. The Rangers are currently two points out of the 6th and final seed, but they do have at least two games in hand on all three teams directly above them in the standings.
O'Toole's solid weekend led to his 8th and 9th victories of the season, along with lowering his GAA to 2.30 and securing his 3rd shutout of the season. The '97 netminder will look to lead his team down the stretch with 6 games in the next 11 days, starting tomorrow afternoon with the Valley Jr. Warriors.
For the third week in a row, the EHLP Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks.

This year's Lumberjacks team has been special, dating all the way back to September. Vermont has lost 6 total games, and they've been spaced out well throughout the regular season.
In between those losses Vermont has racked up winning streaks of 10 games, 5 games, 11 games, and currently, 6 games.
