BOSTON, MA -- The Regular Season is officially complete, and now it's time for the EHLP Playoffs. The final week of the season featured 14 of the 15 Premier Division teams in action, and plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.
We're pleased to announce that JP Natishan (Lehigh Valley Jr. Rebels), Nick Guadagno (Walpole Express), and Ryan Johnson (Hartford Jr. Wolfpack) have been named the EHL Stars of the Week.
Also, this week's EHLP Team of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks, with Honorable Mention awards going out to Vladimar Danilov and the Boston Bandits.
Natishan and the Rebels finished off a frustrating season in perfect fashion this past Saturday against the New Jersey Rockets.
Natishan's four-point game moved his season totals up to 29 points in 38 games for the Rebels. Paired with Timothy Cordero, the Rebels' top two scorers accounted for 73 points this season.
Similar to Natishan, Guadagno and the Express closed the books on the regular season this past weekend. Walpole finished the year just one spot out of the playoffs, but they finished the year with a statement victory on Sunday against the Northern Cyclones.
Guadagno stood on his head while stopping 49 of the 50 shots that came his way. The stellar performance earned him his 6th win of the season, and lowered his GAA down to 3.28.
Johnson and the Wolfpack closed out the regular season with a weekend sweep of the Brewster Bulldogs. Hartford has been locked into the #3 seed in the South Conference for the majority of the season, and now they ride into the Round Robin having won 7 of their last 10 games.
Johnson's three-goal weekend included the game-winning goal in both contests with the Bulldogs. The '98 forward will look to carry the momentum the series into the playoffs.
This week's EHLP of the Week is the Vermont Lumberjacks.
Despite having clinched the Regular Season Championship a couple weeks ago, Vermont has kept the pedal down and finished the season on a 10-game winning streak.
The Lumberjacks end the regular season with a record of 36-4-2, and now get set for the North Conference Round Robin, set to take place this weekend in New Hampshire.
This week's EHLP honorable mention is going out to Vladimar Danilov OF the Boston Bandits.
Danilov and the Bandits knocked off the Northern Cyclones on Wednesday and then the New England Wolves on Sunday, locking up the #3 seed in the North Conference. Danilov tallied nine points in the two games.
The Bandits will now face-off with the Boston Jr. Rangers tomorrow night in the first round of the EHLP Playoffs.
