JERUSALEM, ISRAEL -- The 20th World Maccabiah Games are currently underway from now through July 18th. This year's games are represented well by Maccabi USA, and that includes Jake Lakatos, a goalie for the New Jersey 87s. Lakatos made the Maccabi USA Junior team, and they are set to begin tournament play tomorrow morning.
This past season Lakatos won 12 games while posting a 2.56 GAA for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers. The '99 also posted 3 shutouts, while helping his team finish 2nd in the South Conference. With the 87s set to join the EHLP this Fall, the native of Brick, New Jersey knew where he was heading in the next step of his junior career. For now, Lakatos will embrace the experience of representing his country in Israel, and use it as a solid platform in preparation of the 2017-18 season.
