Postseason Play Begins this Afternoon

BOSTON, MA -- It's time for the 2019 Playoffs in the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP). The countdown to Providence is on, as in just over two and a half weeks, the EHLP will crown its 4th league champion. The Boston Jr. Rangers have advanced to the EHLP Finals in each of the first three seasons, skating away victorious in 2016 and this past year. Can they make it three out of four? We will find out in the next 19 days.

PLAY-IN GAMES (FIRST ROUND)

With the 6th place team eliminated in each conference, the #4 and #5 seeds will face-off today for the right to advance to the Second Round of the EHLP Playoffs. The #4 and #5 matchup is a single elimination playoff game at the home venue of the #4 seed.

New England Conference
#4 Vermont Lumberjacks vs. #5 Walpole Express
Wednesday, March 6th at 1:30pm -- Leddy Arena

We've got a great matchup this afternoon in Burlington, VT, between a pair of EHLP rivals. Vermont won five of the six matchups in the regular season, but lost the most recent meeting by the score of 5-0. Each victory on the other hand was tightly-contested, with the Lumberjacks winning by scores of 2-1, 4-2, 7-5, 6-3, and 1-0. The winner of today's game will advance to face-off against the Rangers this weekend.

Mid-Atlantic Conference
#4 New Jersey Renegades vs. #5 Central Penn Panthers
Wednesday, March 6th at 8:00pm -- Flemington Ice Arena

Moving down south and the regular season series was a little tighter between the Renegades and the Panthers. Central Penn and New Jersey battled seven times during the regular season, with the Renegades winning four of those matchups, and a pair of the contests requiring overtime to determine a winner. The winner of tonight's game will advance to face-off against the Philadelphia Little Flyers this weekend.
